Have you ever tried to learn a language on your own? I have and it can give you a throbbing headache. In college, I set out on my own to learn to speak French. Instead of taking a structured class taught by an instructor, I made the decision to try one of those "how to" books. I would have been more than happy to have taken a class but, at the time, I couldn't afford the two thousand dollars needed for registration. In no time at all, I discovered that I needed something more than a cheap book from the bargain bin to help me learn this beautiful language. I was determined to learn to speak French and with this new found determination, I dove head first into finding the best way to learn French.
In my research, I found several programs that seemed promising on the surface. Once I began working my way through the different modules, I discovered they were poorly organized and I would often find myself confused and completely lost. This only fueled my obsession with trying to find a great program that not only taught the material, but also made it easy and exciting to learn.
My first successful attempt at gaining a basic understanding of the language came when I started using a program that I ordered online. As you might imagine, I was wary as to whether or not it would work as advertised. To my surprise, I found the material extremely easy to absorb due to the organization of the sectioned subject matter. It was so well laid out and simple to use that it made it feel as if you weren't studying at all.
In only a short time, I was able to speak and understand many phrases and could stumble my way through a conversation in French. It was with this success that I decided to write this article. I am sure there are many people who are interested, as I was, in finding the best way to easily and quickly learn to speak this wonderful language. I have included in this article the programs I have found to be the easiest to use and give the best results.
